Snipe Guide
Safe Trading Guide
Last updated: October 27, 2026
Snipe helps collectors find each other and record what they agree to. Snipe does not hold money or cards, check authenticity, or provide refunds. You are dealing directly with another person, so a few habits go a long way.
Before you agree to a deal
- Look at their profile: completed deals, how many different collectors they have dealt with, reviews, and any missed shipping deadlines.
- Be careful with brand-new accounts that have no history, especially for expensive cards.
- Ask for clear photos of the front and back, or a short video, with a note showing today’s date and your username.
- For graded cards, check the grading company’s certificate number on its website.
- Agree on everything inside the Snipe deal: the cards, any cash, and who ships first. Once both sides accept, the terms are locked.
Payment
- Use a payment method that offers buyer protection where available, such as a card payment or a service’s goods-and-services option.
- Be wary of payment methods that are hard or impossible to reverse, such as wire transfers, gift cards, crypto, or “friends and family” payments, especially with someone you do not know.
- Never pay outside what you agreed in the deal, and walk away if someone pressures you to rush.
Shipping
- Protect the card: a penny sleeve and a rigid top loader, taped shut, inside a bubble mailer or small box.
- Use tracking, and insurance for valuable cards. Consider signature confirmation for expensive ones.
- Take photos of the packed card and keep your receipt and tracking number.
- Snipe gives each person 7 days from agreement to ship. Mark the deal shipped as soon as you send it.
When your card arrives
- Film yourself opening the package, then check the card against the description and photos.
- Only mark a card received once you have it and are satisfied. That is also when it moves into your collection on Snipe.
- If something is wrong, do not mark it received. Use “Report a problem” on the deal, and contact your payment provider and the carrier quickly, because they have their own time limits.
- After a completed deal, leave an honest review. It helps everyone.
Red flags
- a price that is far below market value,
- pressure to move the conversation or the payment off Snipe,
- refusing to send photos or a dated proof,
- asking you to ship first when you are a new member,
- a story that changes, or reasons why they cannot use tracking.
If something goes wrong
Use “Report a problem” on the deal so we can review it. We cannot refund you or make anyone ship, but we can act on the account. You can also email snipecollectibleshq@gmail.com. For a payment problem, contact your payment provider as soon as possible. For a lost package, contact the carrier.
